New York – KTP is pleased to announce the addition of partner Michael E. Cavanaugh, Esq. and associate Jodi Johnson, Esq. to the firm. 

Mr. Cavanaugh joins KTP with significant experience in advising and representing commercial banking institutions, corporations, limited liability companies, partnerships and individuals in complex civil litigations, bankruptcy matters, real estate workouts and real estate lending transactions. His experience in all phases of civil litigation in both state and Federal court will be valuable in assisting KTP to address its clients’ legal needs. 

Mrs. Johnson joins the real estate group and will devote her practice to a broad range of real estate transactions. Mrs. Johnson has extensive experience representing both purchasers and sellers, including purchases and sales of commercial and investment properties, single and multi-family homes, condominiums and cooperative apartments. Mrs. Johnson has represented banking institutions in all aspects of commercial and residential mortgage loans.

New York - KTP is pleased to welcome Anabela de Oliveira to the firm as an Associate. Ms. de Oliveira has extensive experience in corporate transactions and has represented clients in domestic and international micro finance, film financing, private equity, bankruptcy, and structured finance transactions. 

Ms. Oliveira is a former judicial extern of the Honorable John C. Lifland, U.S.D.C., United States District Court, District of New Jersey. While pursuing her law degree, she was Associate Editor of the Fordham Journal of Corporate and Financial Law and a recipient of the Archibald R. Murray Public Service Award and Fordham University Legal Writing Award.

New York  KTP Selected to Advise the Special Inspector General for the Troubled Asset Relief Program

KTP has been selected by the Special Inspector General for the Troubled Asset Relief Program (SIGTARP) to provide legal advisory services to SIGTARP in connection with its responsibilities to conduct, supervise and coordinate audits and investigations of any actions taken under the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008. Our services will primarily focus on advising SIGTARP with respect to the following:

•Rights and obligations under various operating and other agreements entered into by or on behalf of Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) participants, vendors, the U.S. Department of Treasury or other agencies involved in TARP;

•Corporate law issues, including formations, acquisitions, sales, joint ventures, mergers, governance matters, conflicts of interest issues, public offerings, reorganizations and taxation;

•Banking law issues, including charters, holding companies, reporting requirements, fund transfers, credit facilities, structured derivative products and capitalizations; and

•Securities law issues, including issuances, registrations, purchases and sales, underwritings, proxies and fiduciary duties.
